Interoperabilidad; estándares

Abstract

El crecimiento significativo del uso de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación, el desarrollo de aplicaciones y soluciones para el e-learning han brindado soluciones complementarias y opcionales para potenciar la educación; sin embargo, las instituciones educativas, que han reunido tecnologías, sistemas de información y aplicaciones heterogéneas distribuidas, han enfrentado la imposibilidad de compartir sus recursos de infraestructura y contenido, problema conocido como interoperabilidad. El establecimiento de estándares, normas y especificaciones destaca como una solución a este problema; y dentro de los diferentes estándares, es relevante señalar que son los estándares abiertos los que emergen como una clave importante para garantizar la interoperabilidad.

The significant growth of the use of the information and communication technologies, and the e-learning applications and solutions development have been used to complement and provide new and better options to reach a powerful education; however, the educative institutions, that have reunited technologies, information systems, and distributed heterogeneous applications, they have faced the impossibility to share their resources of infrastructure and content, problem known like interoperability. The establishment of standards, norms and specifications must be emphasizes like a solution to this problem; and within the different standards, It is important to indicate that the open standards emerge like an important key to guarantee the interoperability.
