Sobre el quehacer y organización de las Humanidades en el presente y futuro inmediato

Abstract

Este trabajo versa sobre un tema fundamental pero que suponíamos resuelto: para qué de las humanidades y su lugar entre las demás ciencias. Al intentar responder esas cuestiones, este artículo da cuenta de la heterogeneidad cultural en que vivimos, de la necesidad de su estudio y proyección futura con nuevas áreas y disciplinas. A partir de ello se muestra que lo más sensato es estar abierto a las proyecciones disciplinarias que aparezcan, a las nuevas fusiones de ellas, o a énfasis en algunos de sus aspectos metodológicos o perspectivas de análisis, que puedan surgir próximamente. Finalmente, se concluye que el para qué y el cómo de las humanidades son preguntas abiertas y que permanecerán así por mucho tiempo. Felizmente.

This paper deals with fundamental questions that we all thought had already been answered: what are the Humanities for? and what is their place among other sciences?. This paper gives an account of the cultural diversity in which we live, the need of its study and the creation of new humanistic areas and disciplines of knowledge. We intend to make it clear that the sensible thing to do is to be open to the merging and creation of new disciplines and to the new methodological and analytical emphasis that may emerge in the near future. In the end of the day, we reach the conclusion that the answer to the questions of what are the Humanities for and how are they studied are open and will remain so for a long time.
