| es_MX |
dc.description.abstract | All the organisms search the balance between the benefits and the costs; such is the case of the flowering plants and the animals. Flowering plants pursue their maximum benefit by having exclusive visitants that will ensure pollination between the same plant species. Otherwise, the visitants (insects, birds or small mammals) seek to optimize their energetically demands by consuming all reachable flowers without regarding the plant species. This conflict of interest has been solved in different ways. In some cases the visitors consume the flowers without leaving any benefit to the plant. In other cases, the interaction animal-plant has led to a passionate affair where both players optimize their benefits, where sometimes we may find extreme love relationships like the mutualism between figs and wasps. | en |
