El español en Internet: una mirada a su evolución en los fotologs

El debate sobre “la evolución” del español es de larga data y se puede remontar a los cambios producidos desde que el castellano comenzó a formarse a partir del latín vulgar. Pero, a esto hay que añadir la nueva discusión que se ha organizado desde que las tecnologías digitales han empezado a mostrar su influencia sobre el idioma

The debate on “the evolution” of Spanish is one of long data. It can be traced back to the changes produced when the Castilian language began to develop from vulgar Latin. Recently, since the digital technologies have begun to show their influence on the language, a new round on the subject has been triggered. In this article we inquire about the evolution of the language by studyng the features of the cyberspeak used on a textual genre that is being developed on the Web at the moment: the fotolog. The corpus of analysis is based on texts produced by teenagers, speakers of Spanish from the River Plate. The fotolog is a genre of the cybernetics communication made up of images -of the producer of the text or his friendsassociated to written texts governed by a phatic-emotive function, with a strong presence of features related to speech
