E-Reading, la nueva revolución de la lectura: del texto impreso al ciber-texto

Abstract

Las Nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación aunadas al Internet, empiezan a tener un impacto muy importante en las formas tradicionales de lectura que se habían mantenido vigentes e inalterables durante poco más de 450 años después de la invención de la imprenta. De esta manera, la revolución tecnológica está dando paso en la actualidad a una nueva forma de lectura en el desarrollo del saber: La lectura electrónica conocida también como e-reading, lectura digital o ciber-lectura. Este artículo por tanto, analiza las características, ventajas y desventajas que conlleva esta nueva forma de lectura de textos electrónicos y hace hincapié, además, en las nuevas capacidades que deben de desarrollar los ciudadanos del siglo XXI para afrontar con éxito esta novedosa forma de lectura a través de los medios electrónicos, en una sociedad a la que se le ha denominado la sociedad de la información y el conocimiento

The New Technologies of the Information and Communication together with the Internet, are having a very important impact in the traditional ways of reading, that have been maintained without any changes for the last 450 years approximately, after the printed press was invented. In this sense, the technological revolution permit us to have a new form of reading, which starts having a very important impact in the knowledge development. Electronic reading, known, also, as e-Reading, digital reading or cyberreading. Therefore, this article analyzes the features, advantages and disadvantages that the reading of electronic texts implies, also it insists on the new capacities that the XXI century citizens must develop to face successfully this revolutionary form of reading through the electronic mass-media in a society that has been named The Knowledge and Information Society
