| es_MX |
dc.description.abstract | On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to Marie Curie, the General Assembly of the United Nations declared 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry. One major goal is to celebrate “the contribution of women to science”. This year we also commemorate the International Year of Women in Science. Marie Slodovska Curie represents the strong will and dedication to hard work, being a source of inspiration for many. She also symbolizes the enormous difficulties that women still have to face when they want to excel ina field traditionally dominated by men. Curie did it outstandingly well, but not without paying a personal price for her audacity. | en |
