The porpouse of the paper is to present a brief introduction to the knowledge of Maya hieroglyphic Writing and Calendar, which was their origin, developing and how we know about it thanks to the deciphering of them, which had being the goals performed by Mayan epigraphists, and to present an example of the new readings through the presentation of the Palenque Tablet Cross
